Kindergarten

Kindergarten is an extension of our preschool. Most children at this level, are adding and subtracting in the thousands. They are able to multiply and divide. they are able to solve simple story problems.
All of my Kindergarteners are fluent readers. The children at this level are usually reading at the very least at a First Grade level. Most of the children are at a Second to Third Grade reading level. We use a balanced literacy approach. We teach our children to read phoenetically, however, we couple that with “sight” words to enable them to be more efficient readers. While most of our children are able to read very difficult words, we do stress comprehension. Our main purpose is to develop the “LOVE” for reading and not just rote memorization.
While we have great success academically, we strive to have our children become well-rounded individuals who are compassionate, responsible and wonderful people to have around.
